First-fill sherry hogshead #1178. Distilled April 1959 & bottled March 2009.
A month short of 50 years old, this is one elderly Linkwood with a deep dark cola colour to match. 176 bottles.
Linkwood Distillery was established in 1821 by Peter Brown in the Scotland’s Speyside whisky region. Linkwood Distillery is a malt whisky distillery equipped with six stills and whilst a large percentage of Linkwood whisky flows into blends of scotch an increasing volume is appearing as single malt whisky and there are some excellent independent releases of Linkwood single malt whisky. Linkwood Distillery participates in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.
Rich, full-bodied dram with a fine balance of flavours.
