The 8" ShastaVent Thru the Ceiling Kit contains all the components needed to install an 8" chimney (excluding black stove pipe and ShastaVent chimney sections) straight up through a cathedral ceiling.
Materials and Construction
- 304 stainless steel inner wall
- 304 stainless steel steel outer wall
- Stainless steel end rings to seal the pipe
- High Temperature Ceramic blanket insulation encased between walls
- Light weight insulation, twist-lock fittings, support boxes with factory installed starter sections
This kit includes the following (from the cap down):
8" Shasta Vent Deluxe Chimney Cap - The Chimney Cap tops off the chimney system, helps to retain sparks and embers, and protects the chimney opening from infiltration of weather, debris, and animals. The Deluxe Cap features a removable spark arrestor screen. This Shasta Vent Deluxe Chimney Cap is made of stainless steel and designed to twist-lock on to the chimney pipe.
8" Shasta Vent Storm Collar - The Storm Collar works together with the Flashing to provide a weatherproof seal where the chimney penetrates through the roof. The Storm Collar is installed directly above the Flashing and must be sealed to the chimney using high-temperature silicone sealant (RTV 500 Degrees F or better).
8" Shasta Vent Roof Flashing - The Flashing provides a weather-resistant means of sealing the chimney system where it passes through the roof.
8" Shasta Vent Ceiling Support Box - The Shasta Vent 24" Tall Support Box works with ceiling pitch to 18/12 pitch (57 degrees). The Ceiling Support Box supports the chimney installation and provides a transition from the stove pipe to the chimney. The Ceiling Support Box can support a maximum of 50-ft of chimney pipe. For a taller system, a Tee Support can be added to help support the additional weight.
Optional extended roof bracket is required when your chimney extends more than 5' above the roof. It will provide stability to the chimney against wind and snow
Simply add enough 8" stove pipe and Shasta Vent Class A chimney pipe to complete your installation.
